At a recent meeting Eric Mock the Provincial Grand Master of the Province of West Wales accompanied by Stephen Hookey the Provincial Grand Secretary presented an academic bursary award to Sandra Beckwith. Sandra who lives in the Bynea area of Llanelli received the cheque for £1,500 in recognition of her dedication and commitment to achieving a BA (Hons) in Management at Coleg Sir Gar Carmarthen. Sandra who left school at 16 has shown tremendous determination and courage to return to the challenges of Higher Education after a gap of over 20 years. Her employer Tesco at Fforest Fach have supported throughout this period by not only allowing her time to follow her studies but have also widened her experience of their organisation to aid her understanding of the techniques of management. We wish Sandra success in her final exams and hope that her hard work will enable her career to flourish.
